Award-Winning Round Peak Wines
Round Peak Vineyards is located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the Yadkin Valley, the first American Viticultural Area (AVA) in North Carolina. Round Peak wines are made exclusively from Yadkin Valley grapes.

Round Peak wines have won numerous medals from the Mid- Atlantic Wine Competition, the North Carolina State Fair, the Vino Challenge International in Atlanta and the Atlantic Seaboard Wine Competition.

We are pleased to offer Chardonnay, Fiddler’s Red, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Nebbiolo, Sangiovese, and Sweet Niagara.

Round Peak Vineyards is pleased and honored to have been selected by Davidson College to produce a special wine, Gato Rojo, for alumni and friends of Davidson College. Gato Rojo is a blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot.

New Estate Releases

2006 Chardonnay

A nice ripening vintage. Flavors of white raisin, lemon and vanilla. Balanced acid. A bit slight on the oak allowing the fruit to express through.

Serve with seafood and hors d'oeuvres.

2005 Merlot

Extraordinary vintage. Dry weather promoted a mature ripeness allowing characteristics of ripe plum, black currant and dark cherry to come through.

Serve with meats, aggressive cheeses or maybe with a cigar.

2005 Nebbiolo

A fun unique red. Consistently high in acid but allowing flavors
of ripe cherry, raspberry, and even subtle strawberry notes.

Serve with cheese. Excellent with tomato based foods.

2006 Sangiovese

Soft garnet color, firm tannins, spicy, peppery. Dried cranberry flavor, yielding a lingering smooth finish.

New Release $16.00

Enjoy with pizza and pasta dishes.

2006 Sangiovese Reserve

Very balanced fruit with good acid. Good representation of Sangiovese, Brunello clone, grape. Raspberry in flavor and color. Also some strawberry and cherry. Very subtle oak.

2005 Chardonnay

Crisp, balanced chardonnay with hints of Granny Smith apples, pear and vanilla. A food friendly wine.

Estate Bottled Fiddler’s Red

Bordeaux style red blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot. A medium-bodied jammy wine with character of ripe raspberries, fresh blackberries, and balanced oak.

Serve with beef stew, and heavy smoked cheeses.

Sweet Niagara

Big nose, wonderful varietal character. A sweet white wine reminiscent of the grapes you plucked from your Grandmother’s arbor. Silver Medal, Mid-Atlantic Wine Competition. Released April, 2005.

Serve with fruit or dessert.

Sweet Rosé

Cherry and strawberry aromas, smooth, with a burst of sweet cherry. Produced from Sangiovese grapes. A wonderful sipper.

Serve with fruit or mild cheeses.


2004 Cabernet Franc

Deep garnet color, aromas of raspberries and black currants; full-bodied with smooth tannins and rich plumy flavors. A hint of raspberry in the after taste. Silver Medal, Mid-Atlantic Wine Competition (Winston-Salem).

Enjoy with cheeses, hors d'oeuvres and pork dishes.

2004 Merlot

Classic black cherry and plum with light smoky aromas and a lingering pleasant smoky finish. Gold Medal, Mid-Atlantic Wine Competition (Winston-Salem).

2004 Cabernet Sauvignon

Medium bodied; classic cassis and cigar box aromas with ripe fruit, silky tannins and a touch of chocolate. Gold Medal, Mid-Atlantic Wine Competition (Winston-Salem); Silver Medal NC State Fair (Raleigh).

Serve with steak and roast beef and also sharp cheeses.

2004 Nebbiolo

Vivid eye-catching ruby-red color distinguishes this Italian varietal. Has a distinct cherry aroma with subtle smoky undertones. Bronze Medal, Mid Atlantic Wine Competition (Winston-Salem); Bronze Medal, North Carolina State Fair (Raleigh).

Serve with lamb, grilled meats, and risotto.

2005 Gato Rojo

Sharing a passion for quality wines, Davidson alumni George Little ’64 and Lee Martin ’64 joined together to purchase 32 acres of prime land in the Yadkin Valley and founded Round Peak Vineyards. Since planting and harvesting six varieties of grapes in 2000, they have produced award-winning vintages featuring a varied selection of grapes. This blend of cabernet franc and merlot grapes is a delightful wine with smooth, rich flavors suitable for any occasion.
